Juliana is a native Texan and has lived in Texas her entire life. She was born in Wichita Falls and moved to the Fort Worth/Dallas Metroplex when she was nine years old. She began her musical journey as an instrumentalist, playing piano at age seven and percussion at age eleven. She began playing bass guitar with her high school jazz band. She was a member of the All State Band in 1984. She began her vocal career at the University of North Texas where she studied vocal performance.
Juliana has been a music educator/clinician/adjudicator since 1992. She has been a professional private music instructor to youth and adults on piano, concert percussion, and voice. She has taught in both a private studio and as a contract instructor at public and private schools at the secondary level, including Birdville ISD, Northwest ISD, Connally ISD, and Bethesda Christian School. Juliana has also served as choral clinician in preparation for UIL competitions and has adjudicated All-Region auditions and multiple solo and ensemble contests in instrumental and choral categories for UIL and ATSSB. She is currently an adjunct professor, private voice instructor, and Director of Choral Studies at Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU). She also serves as vocal director for SAGU's musical theater productions.
Part of her music education career has been serving as Director of Fine Arts in a K-12 private school. She was responsible for interviewing and recommending teachers for employment, developing and implementing fine arts curriculum, scheduling fine arts events and extracurricular activities, and handling interdepartmental relations with other school departments. The fine arts program included instrumental music, choral music, drama, visual arts, elementary music, and middle and high school choir.
Juliana has also performed professionally in numerous live and recorded productions as a background vocalist and as a featured soloist and instrumentalist. She and her husband David are songwriters and have recorded several projects of original music. Currently, they are recording a new project entitled “The Pilgrims Project”. The music and lyrics were written and inspired during a trip to Israel. This recording endeavor includes the professional and musical talents of their children as well.
Juliana earned her Bachelors degree from the University of North Texas and her Masters of Music Education degree from Tarleton State University. Juliana is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA).
